A Deeper Look at a Community Cast

On stage an actor allows a character to come to life. They create a physical presence, they use their voice to shape a different identity, and they put on clothes that they might not wear in their personal lives. Their mission is to take you to another place, maybe another time, and keep you there until the lights in the theatre come back on. Who are these actors? Where do these people come from? This weekend the actors in Lend Me A Tenor are your neighbors, your co-workers, the people you run into at church, or their kids. These actors are from your community. They are not professionals.  Some of them are regulars to the stage and others are trying it for the first time. This is who they are and why they are here.

Marino Eccher (Max) was born in Chicago and raised in the Twin Cities.  Marino came to Fargo eight months ago to write for The Forum, and happily stumbled back into theater in the process. This is his second role at FMCT.  He most recently performed as Aldopho in The Drowsy Chaperone. He’d like to thank his directors for giving him the opportunity to pursue his love of wearing tights.

Jeremy Ellsworth (Frank the Bellhop) was born and raised in the Kansas City area and found his way to Fargo-Moorhead in 2007.  His first theatre experience as the Assistant Stage Manager in Leading Ladies earned him an Emma Award.  Last season he was the Stage Manager for The Foreigner.  He is making his acting debut with his role in Lend Me a Tenor.

Sara Ervin (Maria Merelli) is a student at NDSU majoring in interior design. Originally from Riverton, Wyoming, she has been doing theater since the age of 12 and has been in many shows including, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Man of La Mancha, A Christmas Carol, as well as portraying Mrs. Potts in Beauty and the Beast. This is her first production with FMCT.

Linda Hinrichs (Julia Leverett) is currently employed as the business manager at the Fargo-Moorhead Symphony. She also operates her own business: Small Business Accounting Services of Fargo Moorhead.  Linda recently appeared as Mrs. Tottendale in The Drowsy Chaperone. She has also appeared in productions with Red River Players, Harwood Prairie Playhouse, A Center for the Arts, and Shakespeare in the Park.  Linda also enjoys sewing and has spent many hours in the costume shops at FMCT, Trollwood Performing Arts School, and A Center for the Arts.

Jeff Rondeau (Henry Saunders) is thrilled to be back at FMCT where the fur began three years ago.  You may have seen him recently as Nicky in The Seafarer at Theatre B or in last year’s HPP show as William in Barely Heirs.  Favorite roles include Duncan in Leading Ladies and Jacob Marley in A Christmas Carol, both at FMCT.  Other stage credits include a number of performances showing regularly in his mind only.  Enjoy the show, and as a courtesy to those around you, keep your laughter to an absolute maximum.

Cody Schill (Stage Manager) is excited to be allowed the opportunity to stage manage Lend Me a Tenor. In the past, Cody has acted as well as stage managed.  Technician credits include WFHS productions of Pajama Game (ASM) and Lucky Stiff (SM). You may have also seen Cody in Anything Goes as Reverend H. T. Dobson at Trollwood or the WFHS production of Cats as Old Deuteronomy.

Keith Schweigert (Technican) has appeared in more than 50 productions throughout high school, college and into adulthood.  Keith is proud to have received the 2006 Emma Award for Best Actor for his role as Gunner in Don’t Hug Me.  In addition, he has theatrical technical experience with lighting, sound production, and backstage management. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of FMCT and Dreamgivers.

Mark Seeba (Tito Merelli) lives in Fargo with his beautiful wife Becky and their lovable west highland terrier Frodo. He has taught at Centennial Elementary in Fargo for 17 years. He has won three FMCT Acting Emma Awards for his roles as Jack/Stephanie in Leading Ladies, Gandalf in The Hobbit, and Owen in The Foreigner.

Abby Sellnow (Diana) is so excited to be playing the part of Diana in her third FMCT show, the most recent being The Drowsy Chaperone. She also performed at the Rochester Civic Theatre and the Panther Playhouse in shows including Return to the Forbidden Planet, Beauty and the Beast, West Side Story, and Guys and Dolls. She also studied acting at MSUM.

Kate Stevenson (Maggie Saunders) is a junior at Concordia College hailing from Brainerd, MN.  Past roles at Concordia include Pace from The Trestle at Pope Lick Creek, Suzy from Wait Until Dark, Olivia from Twelfth Night, and Mrs. Prentice from What the Butler Saw.  She has also collaborated with Alex Davidson on a number of student films at MSUM.  Kate is making her debut on the FMCT stage.
